Operating out of brand new and purpose built day care premises, we keep your dog looked after to a high standard throughout their session.

Collection | Drop-Off
Day Care and Group Walking fees include collection & drop off (within 3 miles) in our professionally crated van.
Safety First
For staff and animal welfare, we ensure all dogs are screened and vaccinated before using our day care services.
Well Trained
All staff complete regular and ongoing training, are DBS checked and have dog first aid qualifications for peace of mind.
Small Group Sizes
In day care each group has no more than eight dogs in order to meet the higher standard licencing requirement.

Day Care Centre
The welfare and wellbeing of dogs are at the heart of every decision and action of Happy Hounds Uppingham.
Our purpose built day care has a fully refurbished and insulated barn for shelter from extreme weathers and that all important down time that dogs need.
We also have a secure outside area and fenced field for the dogs to play in and let off steam. Our friendly and trained staff ensure all dogs love their time with us and go home happy, clean and relaxed.
Day Overview
Morning
Depending on the group your dog is in, the order of things will vary slightly but in a typical day the fun will start at 9am with a treat hunt and zoom around the secure field with their friends. After this they will then go to the outside area of the day care to climb on the agility equipment, have a play, some fuss and cuddles.
Late Morning
Food enrichment is next and each dog will receive a food enrichment item (e.g. lickimat/kong/snuffle mat) to enjoy (allergies taken into consideration) and any dog that needs lunch will have it at this point. Towards late morning the dogs will go into the inside area for a cuddle and rest.
Afternoon
The afternoon will start with another zoom around the field playing with toys and balls. This will be followed by water/general play in the outside area and perhaps a bit of basic training. As late afternoon approaches all dogs will be cleaned and popped into a drying jacket.
Late Afternoon
The day will end with cuddles and fuss before the dogs are taken home. We recognise that all dogs are different and can adapt the schedule according to each group. Quiet areas are always available for any dog that needs a bit of downtime.

The barn is purpose built for dog care and features insulation, heating and ventilation for extreme weather.

Two secure outdoor spaces. One outdoor play area with agility equipment and one fully enclosed secure field.

Variety of Experiences
Group Walks
In addition to day care we also have a thriving group walk service. Group walks mainly take place in the secure field at Unleashed in Uppingham (this is a separate business from Happy Hounds Uppingham that has a secure dog walking field for hire). We do, however, aim to give your dog a good variety of different experiences and if your dog has good recall they will also be taken on walks in the fields around the farm where day care is located. We have two walks a day, either late morning or early afternoon and you can expect your dog to be out of the house for approximately 2-hours. The length of walk booked does not include travel time.
